Dear Friends of Southeastern University:
On behalf of the Southeastern University Board of Regents and the Presidential Search Committee, I greet you as a valued member of our university family.
As you know, we are in the midst of the presidential search for Southeastern University. Moving forward in that effort, the Presidential Search Committee recently selected Dr. Tommy Thomas, Managing Director of SIMA International, as a consultant in our pursuit of identifying a president. He specializes in cabinet-level retained executive searches for non-profit and faith-based organizations and is widely regarded as one of the premier leaders in the non-profit search industry.
Dr. Thomas has led more than 150 cabinet-level searches, many of which have included some of the largest and most well-known faith-based organizations in the world. He is the author of The Perfect Search: What Every Nonprofit Board Member Needs to Know About Hiring the Next Chief Executive. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; Samford University with a master’s degree in business administration; and Oxford Graduate School with a doctorate of philosophy in religion and society.
Ultimately, the Presidential Search Committee alone holds responsibility for selecting a recommendation for the next president of Southeastern University. Dr. Thomas has been retained to establish the protocol of the selection process and will create a list of “the best of the best” to forward to the Committee for review. Once the Committee makes its decision, that person’s name will be presented to the Board of Regents. We will keep you informed of the progress and covet your prayers for the process and everyone involved, including the Board of Regents, the Presidential Search Committee, Dr. Thomas, and the applicants.
