SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, 2009

Arrival and check-in
Residence halls and university offices open
If you know your housing assignment, proceed to the appropriate residence hall first. Residential students who need to find out their housing assignment, please report to the Cypress Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Pansler Alumni Student Union Building.
Students with a last name beginning with A – L should check in between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.                         

Students with a last name beginning with M - Z should check in between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Steps to be completed by all new students:
Welcome Center (Student Activities Center)-Registration All students will first visit the check-list table. There you will receive your personalized checklist that shows which steps you need to complete.

Event #2: FIRST Teams seminar and individual connections
Bush Chapel
Required for all new freshman and transfers who have less than 24 credit hours. If the student has been involved in a dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, Summer Scholar, or has earned college credit during High School, they ARE required to attend.

Following the seminar, students will have their first opportunity to connect with their team members and leaders. Each leader has special plans for a unique Connection location, a fun meal, and an evening with friends

Students are required to visit their assigned advisors in their offices to review their registered courses. You will receive instructions at the 10:00 AM meeting. Students who received advising during the June Early Orientation are not required to attend. Open registration and the add/drop period close September 1 at 11:59PM.

9:00 a.m. Event #6: Community service Project
Projects located locally within the Lakeland Community
Required for all new students. Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), an organization here on campus, has partnered with FIRST Teams to bring you our annual community service project. We will be visiting many different sites around Lakeland, so come prepared to have fun, bless others, and show our community what it means to be a servant leader.
