SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2008

8:00 a.m.-
5:00 p.m.
Arrival and check-in
Residence halls and Pansler Alumni-Student Union
If you know your housing assignment, proceed to the appropriate residence hall first. If you do not have a housing assignment, report to the Cypress conference room on the second floor of the Pansler Alumni-Student Union.
Students with a last name beginning with A – L should check in between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.                         

Students with a last name beginning with M - Z should check in between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Steps to be completed by all new students:
All students check in and receive personalized checklists.

  • Fire Card (student ID) - Welcome Center – Student Activities Center
  • Meal plan - Welcome Center - Student Activities Center
  • Mail box assignment - Campus Mailroom - first floor Pansler Alumni-Student Union
  • Health Services (vaccination/health forms and insurance information) – Welcome Center – Student Activities Center
  • Watson Clinic (Learn about Southeastern's doctor.) -Welcome Center – Student Activities Center
  • FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) – Welcome Center – Student Activities Center
  • FIRST Teams - Welcome Center– Student Activities Center
  • Vehicle registration – Steelman Library
  • Emergency text message service - Steelman Library
Steps to be completed as-needed by new students:
  • The Business Office and Financial Aid office are open for late registrants and students who have not paid their accounts. Tuition and room and board should have been paid by August 1, 2008. Appointments are available in the Business Office. Please call (863) 667-5018.
  • There will be an on-campus employment table in the Student Activities Center for students interested in working on campus while at Southeastern.
  • A Wachovia Bank representative will be available in the Student Activities Center.
  • Anyone interested in signing up for Southeastern Singers and other Ministry Arts Tour Teams auditions can visit the table in the Welcome Center or contact the Student Worship and Ministry Arts department at (863) 667-5067.
  • There will be a Student Body Leadership Council (SBLC) information table in the Student Activities Center for students interested in service and leadership at Southeastern.
  • Avoid long lines in the campus restaurant! - Chartwells, the university's food service provider, will sell meal tickets to the family members of incoming students at the Welcome Center on Saturday, August 16. Tickets can be purchased for Saturday lunch and dinner (August 16) and for Sunday brunch (August 17).

Computers in Steelman Library will be availbale for class registration. Staff members will be present for assistance.

Tuscana Ristorante - The cost for Saturday's lunch for all non-students is $7.50 per person.
4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Dinner
Tuscana Ristorante - The cost for Saturday's dinner for all non-students is $8.50 per person.

9:00  p.m. Event #1: The Block Party featuring RAW TV
Bush Chapel
This event features a live recording of RAW TV, free food, and a ton of fun. This will be the ultimate hang out spot for the night.
8:00 a.m.  - 11:00 p.m. Mi Casa Café is open.


SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2008

Tuscana Ristorante - The cost for Saturday's lunch for all non-students is $9.50 per person.
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Residence halls open/ Fire Card (student ID) pickup

MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2008

8:00 - 9:30 a.m. College Entrance-Level Placement exam
Lindsey Science Building (room S500)
Required for all new students who do not have ACT or SAT scores (A $20.00 fee will be charged to the student’s school account.)
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Registration and advising instructions
Bush Chapel
Required for all new students (Students who do not attend might not be allowed to attend classes.)
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Music theory placement exam
Music Hall (MH1)
Required for all new students who wish to pursue a music major or minor
10:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. Lunch

11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Advising
Students are required to visit their assigned advisors in their offices to review their registered courses. The open registration and the add/drop period close August 26 at 11:59 p.m.

1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Safety seminar
Bush Chapel
Required for all new residential students - This seminar will include Internet, campus, and personal safety instructions.
3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Freshman seminar
Bush Chapel
Required for all new students - Find out what to expect as a frosh at Southeastern. Topics include the culture of Southeastern and tips on studying, time management, relationships, and spiritual development.
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Dinner
