Student Activities
Whether you dig poetics or athletics, bowling or block parties, there’s always an exciting way to fellowship at Southeastern. Our Student Life staff, the Athletics Department and student organizations host over 300 events a year. From luaus to retro-roller-skating, each event offers you an opportunity to make new friends, deepen existing relationships and develop your character.
Here’s a sample of events that students enjoy at Southeastern:
‘70s Bowling Night- Students dress up in classic 1970s attire and hit the local bowling alley. The evening features a costume contest, ‘70s music trivia and lots of polyester.
Car-less Drive-in Theatre- Students spread blankets with their friends on a grassy knoll—known on campus as La Loma Hillside —where they watch a flick on a large screen.
American Idol- Students perform in a Southeastern version of American Idol where the judges pull no punches.
Campus Luau- Residence Life hosts a luau of luaus! Southeastern’s own students from Hawaii lead a traditional luau ceremony complete with a limbo contest. Students also learn Hawaiian dance or watch professional dancers perform with flaming torches.
‘80s Roller-skating -Students dress up in 1980s attire and roller-skate the night away. During breaks, students watch 1980s movie scenes on screens at the rink.
Poetry Slam - Students perform poetry and songs before an audience in the campus café or television production studio.
Mystery Bus Night -Student Life staff and about 50 students depart on a bus in the evening. The students don’t know where they’re going, but they end up stopping at sensational sites throughout central Florida before returning to campus the next morning. |
