Spiritual Life
The sermons are hilarious, convicting and uplifting. The worship is real, rhythmic and electric. And fellowship in chapel reminds you that you’re not alone as you strive to follow Christ in a fallen world. Chapel—our thrice-weekly commune with God—is a central component of life here and helps distinguish Southeastern as a Christ-centered university.
Student Life programs chapel services at Southeastern. University President Dr. Mark Rutland preaches at many of the services, offering students high-impact sermons that deepen their spiritual understanding and sharpen their thinking. In addition to chapel, Student Life sponsors Hunger and Thirst nights in which students lead evenings of creative worship. During recent Hunger and Thirst programs, students created art that praised God, and wrote letters to persecuted Christians abroad.
Student leaders and Student Life staff receive additional, regular mentorship from a veteran Southeastern professor and pastor-in-residence who pours into their lives so they may continually minister to others. |
