Counseling Services
While academic achievement should be central to your college years, Southeastern believes that emotional, social, cultural and spiritual growth also are crucial during this stage in your life. Our mission is to provide professional counseling services to Southeastern University students within a Christian atmosphere, and to create a safe environment where students are able to establish and accomplish treatment goals and objectives. Our counselors work alongside students, who learn new skills that enable them to live a full and productive life as a student as well as into the future.
Counseling services are available to full-time students at Southeastern. Family members may attend sessions with the student when deemed appropriate by the counselor. Southeastern’s Counseling Center tries to employ therapy for only a short period, for most clients experience the greatest level of progress after a few sessions. Professors, residence directors, resident assistants, staff members or another Southeastern student can refer students to the campus counselor. Students also may seek counseling at the Center on their own.
Counseling appointments are conducted in private offices in the Pansler Alumni-Student Union where conversations can be kept confidential. For more information about counseling at Southeastern call (863) 667-5146.
