Southeastern University is a liberal arts Christian university affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Its mission focuses on traditional ministerial training and faith integration in non-ministerial disciplines. The campus, located in Lakeland, Florida—between Tampa and Orlando—covers eighty seven shaded acres and is bordered by two lakes. The university has a workforce of 300+ employees. Over 2,900 students pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in four colleges and five academic departments, offering over 44 majors.

Adjunct Instructor For Art Appreciation
The Department of Communication is accepting applications for the position of adjunct instructor for the three credit hour course Art Appreciation for the spring 2010 semester. Applicant must have a Master’s degree. The course is described as an introductory overview of the major periods in art history.

Compensation: Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application Process: Send a letter of intent to apply, a curriculum vita, employment application (downloadable from website at www.seuniversity.edu), and a statement of personal Christian faith. Following a preliminary screening, the College of Education may require three letters of recommendation, official graduate transcripts, course evaluation summaries, and representative course syllabi. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Adjunct Instructors For Human Services Courses
The Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences is accepting applications for positions as adjunct instructors (both campus and online). Instructors are needed for undergraduate and graduate courses. Master’s degree in Human Services is required for undergraduate instruction and a doctorate in Human Services for graduate instruction. Applicant must submit a cover letter with the Southeastern University application (downloadable from our website at www.seuniversity.edu/hr), curriculum vitae, and letters of reference.

Adjunct Professor Of American Sign Language/Dactylology
Southeastern University invites applications and nominations of candidates for the position of Adjunct Professor of American Sign Language/Dactylology beginning January 2010. Candidates must have at least a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours directly in ASL. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience. Responsibilities include teaching 3-9 credit hours per semester and supporting the overall work of the Department of English and Foreign Languages. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience

Assistant Professor of English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL)
The College of Education announces a full-time faculty position for Assistant Professor of Education beginning August 2010 contingent on funding.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach face-to-face and online courses at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Advise and mentor education majors
  • Observe and mentor interns
  • Serve on department and university committees
  • Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by the College of Education Dean or Associate Dean
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • At least eighteen graduate credit hours in ESOL, or equivalent, coursework
  • Successful teaching experience at the K-12 level
  • Successful face-to-face and online teaching experience at the college/university level
  • Prefer ESOL and Reading Endorsement and K-12 Teaching Certification in Florida
