HOW TO APPLY
The Office of Human Resources updates open positions on this site every Monday. You will find a brief overview of the job, a summary of the qualifications required, and the name of the department in which the position is located.
Applications are accepted only for open positions and only in the Office of Human Resources. Inquiries about vacancies should not be directed to the department in which the vacancy is located.
Before completing the Southeastern University Employment Application, read the requirements in the "qualifications" section of the job announcement carefully. Make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for the position before you apply.
You may include a resume and/or cover letter with the application form if you wish. Unless specifically requested in the job announcement, it is not necessary to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation or other information with the application form.
You may submit a photocopy of the application form, but an original signature and date must appear on the photocopy. You may apply for more than one position at a time; however, a separate application must be submitted for each vacancy and each application must include the position title for which you wish to be considered. We are not able to reactivate previous applications - you must submit a new application form each time you apply.
Applications can be submitted in person, by mail, by email or by fax. Applications must be received in the Office of Human Resources by 4:30 p.m. on the announced deadline date. Postmarks will not be honored and applications received after the deadline cannot be considered.
THE NEXT STEP
Your application will be carefully reviewed and evaluated after the application deadline has passed. Applications from all candidates for the vacant position will be screened to identify the best-suited candidates for a particular vacancy. The screened applicant pool is forwarded to the hiring department for review and the hiring department will contact applicants to schedule interviews. Not all candidates who apply or whose applications are forwarded to the hiring department will receive an interview.
We regret that neither the Office of Human Resources nor the hiring department is able to provide status updates concerning your application until the final disposition of the applicant pool. You will be notified in writing if you are not selected for a position as soon as practicable, usually within three to four weeks following the application deadline.
THE HIRING PROCESS
Once a selection recommendation is made by the hiring department, the selection is reviewed and approved by the Office of Human Resources. The hiring department will extend a verbal offer of employment to the selected candidate. The Office of Human Resources will confirm the verbal offer in writing to the candidate.
