The turn of the twenty-first century has been a harbinger of change for the business world. The dot.com industry boomed and went bust, Enron collapsed and "outsourcing" has become a household buzzword. Amid these shifts, an MBA has emerged as a prerequisite for many entry-level business jobs, and for those already working, a necessary tool for keeping pace with new business strategies.

At Southeastern, we're committed to training professionals who can confidently leverage change, in an environment where you can speak freely about your faith. People have talked a lot about business "ethics" in the aftermath of the Enron, WorldCom and HP corporate scandals. Call it what you want, businesspeople with a Biblical worldview have an advantage when it comes to making moral decisions at work. Christian principles are the core strength of our classes, from accounting to corporate finance.

Online and Campus-Based Programs
Once you've decided to pursue an MBA at Southeastern, the question becomes, which program best suits your needs? With busy professionals in mind, we've made the program flexible for the student. You can take courses on campus or online, or a combination of both. By taking four courses a semester (two each eight-week session), you can finish in 12 months. Or you could take only one course at a time and complete the program in two years. To maintain full-time status, you must take at least three courses per semester. This pace would allow you to complete the program in four semesters, or 16 months.

Our online MBA courses are open to students anywhere with Internet access. Using Blackboard, you can complete projects on your own time and interact with other MBA students in real-time, online discussions. Campus-based students commute to Southeastern one to two weekday nights each week, taking eight-week-long classes.

A Community of Christian Professionals

Like Southeastern's undergraduate programs, the MBA classes are taught by professors committed to Christian worldview thinking. The textbooks may not quote scripture, but respect for Biblical values pervades every classroom and online discussion. Maybe you don't feel comfortable talking about your faith at work. Through Southeastern, you may meet other students in a similar situation. Our MBA classes will become a safe haven and strengthen your commitment to be a witness to a watching world. You'll also meet professionals who work in Christian environments such as schools, churches, and nonprofits.

MBA students bring diverse backgrounds and visions to Southeastern. Some are recent college graduates who want that MBA on their resume before they start job hunting. Others work for businesses that provide tuition reimbursement for the additional training our MBA classes provide. We also attract students who are looking to change careers to a new field or within their own industry, for example, a nurse who's interested in hospital administration.

At Southeastern, MBA students bond and support each other. Accountants help MIS professionals crunch numbers, and church administrators trade advice with corporate comptrollers. Just a few weeks into your first semester, you'll know your fellow students well enough to write their resumes. By the end of your program, you'll be functioning like a Fortune 500 product development team, but committed to seeking eternal values over financial gain.
