Steps to Applying for Aid

  1. Complete and submit the Application for Admission.

  2. As soon as a student is accepted for admission, eligibility for the Transfer, Regent's, President's, Dean's, or Southeastern scholarships will be automatically determined. Eligibility for the Travel Grant (for out-of-state students) also will be determined at the time of acceptance. The deadline for eligibility for the Transfer, Regent's, President's, Dean's, Southeastern, and Travel Grant awards is May 30 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester.

  3. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). In order to expedite your financial aid, submit your FAFSA as soon as your taxes are completed. The priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA is April 15. The FAFSA may be submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Southeastern's FAFSA code is #001521. Once Southeastern receives your FAFSA information, the Financial Aid office will contact you regarding the additional documentation required to complete your financial aid file.
Students must submit a Southeastern Student Information Sheet (SIS) for their file. For a printable SIS, click here.

  4. Upon completion of the previous steps, Southeastern will send you an award letter outlining the amount and types of financial aid awards you are eligible to receive.

An online entrance interview is required of all new students receiving a subsidized or unsubsidized Stafford Loan. Click here to link to the online entrance interview for student loans.

It is important to note that although applications for financial aid may be accepted prior to the official acceptance of a student, the Financial Aid office will not disburse the student aid award until the student is officially accepted by the Admission office.
