
Endowments & Scholarships
Southeastern University Endowed and Annually Funded Scholarships are awarded according to scholarship requirements by the Scholarship Committee.
Roy J. and Iris A. Kasmar Scholarship
The Roy J. and Iris A. Kasmar Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in business.
Baylis & Company PA CPAs Scholarship
An annual scholarship to assist an upperclass student who is has financial need and is pursuing a degree in accounting. Student must be of good character and must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
Judie Greene Besso Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a female education major from Indian River County, Florida, with preference given to students from Vero Beach. Applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement, leadership potential, a passion for ministering to people in need, and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
Jennifer Gordon Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student demonstrating high character and qualities of leadership. A cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 is required.
Alumni Association Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established through proceeds from the publication of an alumni directory with annual funding by Southeastern University alumni. Applicants must show need and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above. Preference will be given to children of graduates.
Alfred and Hulda Anderson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Alfred and Hulda Anderson by their grandchildren. It is a need-based scholarship that is to be awarded annually to either a junior or senior who has a proven GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Bible Department Student Scholar Book Award
Each year three upperclassmen will be awarded $100 each to use to select books from a list of scholarly books provided by the members of the religion faculty. These students MUST be registered as a religion major. They also must have at least a 3.0 average. The total annual award of $300 is funded by donations from the members of the religion faculty.
J. Bashford Bishop Scholarship Fund
Established in honor of longtime faculty member J. Bashford Bishop. Awards are made to students who have financial need and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
Foster W. Bolin Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a senior ministerial student who shows promise of successfully engaging in the full-time ministry of the gospel.
Broadcast Scholarships
Three scholarships of $300 each are offered each semester to students with experience in video taping and broadcasting and who take an active role in producing and broadcasting programming on the Southeastern campus television channel and radio stations.
Thomas Cross Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is funded by Belleview First Assembly of God and provides assistance to students maintaining a 2.0 GPA and showing financial need.
Ralph and Audrey Crowell Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually in memory of Ralph and Audrey Crowell to honor their lifelong love and dedication to the students of Southeastern University. This scholarship seeks to award a junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Crossroads Scholarship
Established for Hardee County, Florida students only. It is available first to homeschooled students, secondly, to private Christian school students, and thirdly, to any Hardee County student.
Danford Trust Scholarship
Awarded to a student demonstrating need, academic ability, and promise in successfully engaging in full-time ministry of the gospel.
For Ishmael’s Sake
A $250 scholarship is awarded annually to an upperclassman with a 3.0 GPA who has a proven interest in the Muslim world.
Founders Fund Scholarship
Established to assist students with their educational costs enabling trained young men and women to take the message of Christ to the ends of the world.
Audrey Frazier Memorial Scholarship
Established by the family in loving memory of their wife and mother, Audrey Frazier. This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a missions major with a GPA of 2.5 and above.
Robert and Margaret Gatlin Scholarship Fund
Established by the West Florida District Council in honor of Reverend and Mrs. Gatlin for inspired and faithful leadership of the district. The scholarship is awarded annually to a worthy student from the West Florida District preparing for service to the Kingdom of God.
Great Commission Trust
Awarded to worthy students from the Great Commission Trust foundation.
E. E. Hennesy Ministerial Scholarship
Established by James L. Hennesy and friends in memory of his father, E. E. Hennesy.
Cyril E. Homer Living Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 scholarships are awarded annually in memory of Dr. Cyril E. Homer to juniors or seniors with a Pastoral or Missions major whose GPA’s are 3.0 or above. The fund was established by his family and friends and the Board of Directors of Southeastern University in memory of Dr. Cyril E. Homer who served the university with distinction for two separate tenures as president.
Mack James Memorial Preaching Scholarship
Awarded annually to worthy students having financial need who are preparing for preaching ministry.
Joseph and Eloise Judah Missions Scholarship
Awarded annually in memory of veteran missionaries, Joseph and Eloise Judah. Missions majors in their junior and senior year who are planning to enter full-time missions service are eligible.
Koinonia of Ruskin Scholarship Fund
Established by Mrs. Betty Buhrkhul and the remaining members of the Koinonia of Ruskin Church in Ruskin, Florida, the scholarship is to be awarded annually to a single parent who maintains a 2.5 GPA or above, and whose child is 18 years of age or under and is currently under the applicant’s care.
Charles and Gwynneth Lee Scholarship
A $600 scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or senior from Alabama in a ministry-related degree program. Applicants must maintain a 2.0 GPA and show financial need.
Glory MacMillan Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is available to students of any level in a ministry-related major who have a 2.0 GPA. Applicants from the Columbus, Georgia, area are given first consideration.
Missionary Dependent Scholarships
Children of appointed Assemblies of God foreign and national home missionaries
who itinerate for their support and who serve on a full-time basis are eligible for a scholarship of 25% of their tuition each semester provided they remain single and have not reached their 24th birthday. Children of any Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) appointed foreign or home missionaries are included in this scholarship. Full-time enrollment is required. Applications are available in the university business office.
Multiple Student Discount (10% of tuition charges)
This discount is available to second (and additional) enrolled dependent students from
the same immediate family. “Dependent student” is defined the same as “dependent
student for federal financial aid purposes.” Ten percent (10%) of tuition charges is discounted. Full-time enrollment is required. Applications are available in the university
business office.
John Myers Mission Scholarship
Awarded to a junior or senior student with a missions emphasis.
T. H. Spence Scholarship
Established by the family of T. H. Spence. T. H. Spence served as the district superintendent of Alabama and as chairman of the Board of Directors at Southeastern University.
Student Body Leadership Council and Student Missions Association Scholarships
Scholarships of varying amounts are awarded annually to Student Body Leadership Council and Student Missions Association officers.
Student Publications Scholarships
Scholarships of varying amounts are awarded each semester to student editors working for The Torch (yearbook) and The Southeastern Times (student newspaper). For more information, contact the faculty advisors of the publications at (863) 667-5119.
Harry and Irma Wolf Scholarship Fund
Established in honor of parents of Harry and Irma Wolf. The scholarship is awarded to
a student enrolled as a sophomore or above and who has a grade point average (GPA)
of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The recipient must be an active member of an Assembly
of God church in the Peninsular Florida District.
Christ the King Assemblies of God Scholarship
Awarded to a married, or married with children (preference), student demonstrating financial need with a “B” average. Student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Morgan African American Scholarship
Awarded to an African-American resident of Orlando, Florida with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
PK Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a new full-time freshman of Southeastern University who is the dependent child of an Assemblies of God-ordained minister serving either Peninsular Florida section 10 or the Southeastern Spanish District for a minimum of 5 consecutive years prior to date of scholarship application. Recipient must not be over 21 years of age, must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and must be listed as a dependent on his/her parent's most recent income tax return. A 500-word written essay is required and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed.
