In what was the first ever tennis match for Southeastern, the Lady Fire didn't look intimidated against the established Webber program.

"I wanted them to come out with confidence, and we're going to learn from these matches," said Coach Middleton.

Second-year coach for Webber Trey Heath was impressed with the Lady Fire tennis team, adding that he was delighted with the crowd turnout.

"From past experience I know the season can get long; the key is to keep a positive attitude, and that's what I saw from this team today," said Heath.

In attendance was Athletic Director Duane Aagaard. "The main goal for today was to build a foundation for the future success of the tennis program," he said. "With what I saw today, my expectations were met."
