Lady fire gets third straight top five finish nationally!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Lady Fire finished the 2007 season with a 17-4-1 record and a top five finish in the country for the third straight year.

All of these accomplishments despite losing two senior All-Region defenders, Noel Reno and Tara Ellis, both out for the season due to injuries.

In the national tournament, SEU lost in a penalty kick shootout to Providence College, 3-2, but did not surrender a goal in regulation for the entire 2007 national tournament.

Melissa Kennedy was named the 2007 South Region Player of the Year, leading the Lady Fire with 54 points (22 goals, 10 assists).

Eight other Lady Fire players earned All-Region honors, while Coach Dominic Stross was named the 2007 South Region Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
