daryle tucker - women's basketball coach
Prior to his tenure at UND, Tucker worked at Division I Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La., where he served as director of basketball operations for the 2006-2007 season. From 2004 to 2006, Tucker worked as an assistant director at Ken Littlefield Incorporated JUCO Summer Events, as he studied under national recruiting analyst Ken Littlefield and helped build great recruiting connections across the country. During this time, Tucker was a men's assistant coach at NCAA D-II Valdosta State University, in Valdosta, Ga., for a year. The following year he served as an assistant coach at Georgia Southwestern State University, in Americus, Ga. At Georgia Southwestern, Tucker worked with the women's program and helped guide the Lady Hurricanes to their first conference tournament appearance in three years. "I just want to thank the whole Southeastern University community for the opportunity to lead the women's program," said Tucker. "My beautiful wife and two amazing daughters are truly blessed to be here." Tucker played basketball at NCCAA II Atlanta Christian College and was an All-American guard for the Chargers. He graduated from Atlanta Christian College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing along with a minor in biblical studies. He is currently finishing his master's degree in educational leadership from the University of North Dakota. He is the proud husband to Jennifer and father to daughters Aneesa and Jazmyn. Gearing up for season, Tucker says: "Galatians 6:9 states we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up, and I believe that this verse captures what this team will represent as we challenge for national championships on the court year in and year out, while also being great Christian ambassadors off the court." “Daryle played with a lot of heart and determination for me while at ACC. The effort that he has shown learning the coaching profession the last few years will be a major asset as he leads Southeastern into the NAIA. Having played in a Christian college community, Daryle will be able to build on the Christian principles that are so important in building a strong Christian athlete.” —Joe Griffin, former coach at Atlanta Christian College and current Director of Athletics at Simpson University in Redding, Calif. "Daryle is a perfect fit for the mission of Southeastern Athletics. He was an NCCAA standout student-athlete at Atlanta Christian College but more importantly, it is his passion to utilize the game of basketball to discipline young ladies for Christ. His coaching resumé is impressive with stops at the University of North Dakota, Southeastern Louisiana University, Valdosta State and Georgia Southwestern, however his desire to leave a legacy as a husband, father, and coach is what made Daryle such an attractive candidate to lead the Fire Women's Basketball program." —Southeastern University Athletics Director Duane Aagaard.
