Fire makes history! wins school's first nccaa d-i title
The Southeastern University men's golf team won the 2007 NCCAA National Championship by shooting a two-day total of 597 (298-299). In October, the Fire was honored by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing with an Athletic Achievement Award for this incredible accomplishment. SEU won the title by nine shots, and junior Matt Parziale won the tournament overall, shooting a 141 (70-71). The Fire capped off its fall semester by winning the Lake Wales Fall Classic, putting together a 569 (279-290) and winning the NAIA event by 15 shots. Freshman Sean Metcalf captured the tournament by shooting a 139 (68-71). Graeme Nelson and Nate Mosby also had top five finishes in the tournament, both shooting a 143. |
