COACHES

HEAD COACH: JASON BECK

Coach Jason Beck came to Southeastern in August 2004 and will enter his sixth season as the head coach of the Southeastern baseball team in the fall of 2009.

Coach Beck has a career record of 360-221 and a 227-99 record at Southeastern.

He won his 300th game in 2008 and his 200th game at Southeastern this past season. He also had a 9-9 record versus future NAIA Sun Conference rivals in 2009, including a victory over Sun Conference powerhouse Embry-Riddle University for the second consecutive season.

At Southeastern, he has guided the Fire to four NCCAA II National Championships in five years while also winning four South Region titles. As Southeastern competes in the NAIA's Sun Conference full-time next year, Coach Beck finishes with an 82-12 career record against NCCAA II South Region opponents.

Since Coach Beck's first season in 2005, the Fire has enjoyed a 21-2 record in the NCCAA II National Tournament.

Coach Beck has averaged 45 victories in his first five seasons, including a school-record 48 wins in both 2005 and 2007.

Coach Beck came to Southeastern from Nyack College in Nyack, New York. He played for Nyack College from 1989 to 1992, where he starred as a pitcher and at first base and was named team captain his sophomore year. After leaving Nyack, he joined the workforce of THK America as a district manager. It was through this experience that Coach Beck learned the business and interpersonal skills needed to be a head baseball coach on the college level.

After ten years in the working world, Coach Beck felt the calling of the Lord to take on a full-time job working with young Christian men, using baseball as his ministry. After Beck worked at his alma mater for a few years, the Lord blessed him with the opportunity to apply for the vacant coaching job at Southeastern.

Coach Beck accumulated a 134-125 record at Nyack, winning the NCAA Division II Conference Championship in 2004.

Coach Beck brought high expectations to the Southeastern baseball program, and his presence is being felt throughout the Southeastern athletics community. Also, he is an outstanding recruiter because of his many relationships with high school coaches throughout the country, particularly in Florida. These relationships enable him to try to draw many of the outstanding Florida prospects to Lakeland, continually benefitting the quality of the Southeastern baseball program.

Coach Beck resides in Lakeland with his wife Deborah and two children, Gavin and Kelsey.

ASSISTANT COACH: DAVID MOSKOVITS
Coach Moskovits is entering his second season as an assistant coach for the Fire after a four-year playing career at Southeastern University.

Coach Moskovits was named a First Team All-American his senior year and was a three-time All-Region selection. He left the Fire as the school's all-time leader in walks (122), while he was third in career hits (212), second in triples (10), and second in runs scored (183). He finished with a career batting average of .347.

As an assistant, Coach Moskovits will primarily be working with the hitters and helping Coach Beck with recruiting and many administrative needs.

From 2006-2007, Haynes worked as the pitching coach at Lake Gibson High School (Lakeland, Fla.), where he still works as a math teacher.

During his two years at Lake Gibson, the team ERA dropped by ½ run per nine innings and the team's walks were cut in half.

Haynes graduated from Southeastern University in 2005 with a BS in finance.

He currently resides in Lakeland with his wife, Jessica.

ASSISTANT COACH: CHAD CROSBY

Coach Chad Crosby will enter his second season with the Southeastern Fire coaching staff this fall. He will be working with many aspects of the baseball program, including hitting and recruiting.

After graduating from Bartow High School in 1993, Crosby attended Warner University and was a four-year starter on the baseball team. He set numerous school records at Warner and received many conference, regional, and national accolades. He graduated in 1999 from Warner with degrees in exercise science and biology.
