COACHES

HEAD COACH: DEBORAH BECK

Coach Deborah Beck is entering her third season as the head coach of the Southeastern University cheerleading program.

In Coach Beck's first year, she took the Fire cheerleading team to the program's first national competition, in which SEU finished in second place overall.

In 2007, she took the cheerleading team back to nationals and helped guide the team to another second place finish overall, helping build an early record of consistency and quality in the cheerleading program.

Coach Beck joined Southeastern University from Nyack College, in Nyack, New York. There, she worked for Nyack as an NCAA Division II compliance officer and as the Assistant Athletic Director.

Having also co-coached the cheerleading program for Nyack for six seasons, Beck is extremely excited to be a part of building the cheerleading program for Southeastern Athletics, jumping at the chance to do so when the opportunity presented itself.

"I can't think of better people to work with than cheerleaders, especially Christian cheerleaders. What a perfect job!" said Coach Beck.

"When I learned that I would be moving to Florida, I secretly became one of the squad's biggest fans! Little did they know I was having them videotaped and was regularly watching their game tapes," added Coach Beck.

Former coach Kara Richards left the program after a two-year stint of laying the groundwork for a great squad; with that foundation laid, SEU will continue to see great things from this season's squad.

Coach Deb Beck is married to Jason Beck, who is the baseball coach here at Southeastern. They have two children: Gavin and Kelsey.
