Biography

Dr. Lewis brings a wealth of experience to Southeastern students, including over 25 years in college teaching and 20 years in pastoral ministry. He spent 14 years of his time in the ministry as a Church Growth Consultant for the AG national office, assisting districts, sections, and local churches in reaching people for Christ.

In addition to Dr. Lewis’ official degrees, he has 18 graduate hours in Humanities and Art History classes and has worked as a counselor, a business analyst, a motivational speaker, and an administrator. He has received “Teacher of the Year" honors from two different colleges and has been selected once as the “Alumnus of the Year” by the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Though he believes that confusion is the first step to education, he also believes that it should not be the last and that a quality education will always have an element of abundant joy, academic fulfillment, and personal success. Part of the point of a fulfilled education, according to Dr. Lewis, is to smile and to teach others to smile.

Dr. Lewis teaches the following courses at Southeastern: World Religions, Old Testament Survey, Theology, Christian Thought, and Pastoral Counseling. His research interests include God, His word, His world, and human behavior and communication.
