Biography
Dr. Joe Davis brings to Southeastern not only strong academic credentials but also extensive experience in pastoral ministry and counseling.  He served as senior pastor of New Exodus Fellowship, a church plant he helped start, from its inception in 1986 till 2004, when it was successfully merged with Hereford Assembly of God in Monkton, Maryland. He also oversaw that combined church until August of 2005.

Besides his work with the church, Dr. Davis served as president of the York County Pro-Life Federation and oversaw a drug rehabilitation program, the responsibilities of which included writing behavioral plans for dually diagnosed patients and having clinical oversight of 40 staff and 150 patients. Recently, Dr. Davis has completed an evangelism trip to Nigeria that included setting up free medical clinics in that country.

Dr. Davis' teaching philosophy is both incarnational and intentional, with the goal of helping his students to understand the strength and veracity of their faith. His desire is that his students would learn more about their faith so they can understand the practicality of the theoretical.

Dr. Davis teaches the following classes at Southeastern: Apologetics, Principles of Ethics, Christian Thought I & II, Theology I & II, I and II Corinthians, Ministerial Leadership, Ministerial Ethics, and Pastoral Theology. His areas of current research include leadership in the early church, the history of atheism, and the office of deacon and poverty.
