Biography
Winner of the 2000 Gina Bachauer Piano Competition at the Juilliard School, Ching-Wen Hsiao has performed throughout North America, Germany, Mexico, and Asia. She has also won the 1995 Taiwan National Piano Competition, the Steinway Society Solo Piano and Concerto Competition, the American Musician Scholarship Competition, and the Alan Fay “Outstanding Pianist Award." In 2006, she was awarded the “New Rising Star” prize in Taiwan, which led to her debut recital at the Taiwan National Concert Hall.

Ching-Wen Hsiao has performed with violinist Cho-Liang Lin at Alice Tully Hall and has plans to record with him, and she has also worked with musicians such as Krystian Zimerman, Itzhak Perlman, and Claude Frank. In addition, her principal teachers have been Yoheved Kaplinsky and Jerome Lowenthal.

Ching-Wen Hsiao desires to pass on this rich tradition and love of music-making to the young musicians at Southeastern, and she hopes she and her students can impact this world for the better by spreading the gospel through music. She teaches piano lessons, class piano, instrumental ensemble, and Music Theory I.
