Biography
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Annabelle Gardiner is a former member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.  She has also served as a regular substitute violinist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.   Gardiner has worked with internationally renowned conductors such as James DePreist, Sir Neville Marriner, Leonard Slatkin, and John Williams, to name a few.

Abroad, Gardiner has performed with her husband in the Philippines, Malaysia, Switzerland, and Germany. Currently, Gardiner performs with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Florida Orchestra, and she is an active chamber musician in Central Florida.

In addition to her orchestral career, Gardiner also performs with various groups representing different genres of music including Baroque, Broadway, and pop/rock. She has appeared in concerts with orchestral backup for Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Manheim Steamroller, Arturo Sandoval, and Mel Torme, as well as many other renowned artists. She has also been a member of several recording projects, and most recently recorded for Tokyo Disney.

Gardiner’s former teaching positions include the music faculties of Houghton College and the Masterworks Festival.    Her principal teachers were Zvi Zeitlin, Oleh Krysa, and Mark Zinger. 

At Southeastern, Gardiner teaches Music History and Literature I and Music Theory I, gives Violin and Viola lessons, and coaches chamber music.  Her research and performance interests are in orchestral, chamber, and solo violin literature. Gardiner is also a member of the Southeastern Faculty Piano Trio.
