Biography
Before coming to Southeastern in 2007, Doug Roth served in a wide range of positions throughout 17 years of experience in Christian education, including positions as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, business manager, and superintendent. Before those years in formal education, he also ministered as a youth pastor. More recently, he worked as a graduate assistant in the ORU Department of Education and served for two years as the Colorado State Representative to the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Roth’s passion is to see a biblical worldview restored to the public and private classrooms of America at all levels: pre-school, elementary, secondary, and post-secondary. He believes this restoration will emerge through servant-leaders committed to the cause of Christ in all educational arenas, a purpose consistent with Southeastern’s mission.

As a generalist in education, Roth may teach any of the foundational courses in the teacher education program, including Psychological Foundations of Education and Introduction to Education, but he also teaches Children’s Ministry for the College of Christian Ministries and Religion. His research interests are leadership, single-gender education, student retention, brain research, school finance, vouchers, educational systems, and global demographics.
