Biography
Jim Paton comes to Southeastern with a background in both education and ministry. Not only has he taught special needs high school students in the Polk County School District but he has also served as an ordained minister in the local church, preaching, teaching, leading worship, and counseling. Paton believes that the Spirit-led integration of psychology and theology is a worthwhile pursuit, and he tries to lead his classes in this endeavor.

Paton teaches the following courses: Introduction to Psychology, Psychology of Adjustment, Developmental Psychology, Crisis Intervention, and Marriage and Family. His research interests are Pauline literature and practical Christian living, attachment theory, personality development, and crisis intervention.
