THE LEADER
Why do businesses flourish or fail? Fly or flounder? We can’t change market forces, but we do determine how we lead an organization—the standards that we cultivate within ourselves and hold others to. Leadership advances an organization from mere maintenance to innovative change and growth. Great leaders need not be expert technicians, but they must have a clear vision, be able to communicate it effectively, and inspire others to work tirelessly with them for its realization.

Southeastern will bring out the leader God is calling you to be. You’ll learn the principles and skills of transformational leadership so you may become salt in the business sphere and the world at-large. This program prepares you to lead and manage firms, churches, and other for-profit and not-for-profit organizations ethically, morally and effectively.

THE CORE
Southeastern’s business leadership program begins with our Christ-centered liberal arts (general education) core curriculum, where you develop an understanding and appreciation of God and His creation, human creativity and reason, and our place of responsibility as stewards in the world God has made. As you forge links between what you’ve learned in the core and the more specialized courses in your major, our hope is that you also begin to relate all that you learn to your life and your faith.

BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP
As a business major, you’ll acquire fundamental business skills and knowledge in accounting, finance, marketing, economics and management. Within the leadership major itself, you’ll study more about management—from entrepreneurship to diversity—and aspects about practical ministry, including spirituality and communication.

WHAT'S NEXT?
A degree in business leadership from Southeastern will allow you to work in many areas of business and ministry, including the following:

  • General management positions in business
  • Managerial positions in not-for-profit organizations
  • Church leadership
  • Business development positions
