College of Education

Southeastern’s College of Education will train you to equip children for success in school and beyond. You may specialize in teaching elementary, middle or high school grades with middle and upper grade concentrations in math, science, social studies and English. Courses cover teaching methods, classroom management and assessing students. Other classes explore teaching speakers of other languages, using technology in classrooms, and instructing children with disabilities. Music education majors also meet many of their requirements through the College of Education. In addition to approaching teaching as ministry, we emphasize hands-on experience in local schools.

PROFESSORS & PRACTITIONERS
Southeastern education professors are veteran educators who have served in many contexts—from Costa Rica to Spain, from Boston to Lakeland, Florida. They have experience teaching at urban and suburban, and public and private schools. They have served as missionaries in Europe and taught at Christian schools closer to home. Our professors are eager to use their collective experiences to help you develop, excel and thrive as a teacher wherever the Lord is calling you. Faculty members also pursue advanced degrees, write, and regularly attend conferences in order to stay fresh in the field–so you’re assured that what you learn will be relevant in the classroom. Most importantly, our professors are practicing, committed Christians who offer you personal and spiritual guidance along with academic and professional instruction.
